Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The purpose of this role is to manage the digital change, release & environments function to meet business needs. You will ensure there is a proper structure in place to support visibility, communication, and conflict resolution efficiently to support project progress.

Collaboration is key to this role as you will be working with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. Internally, this includes product, engineering, operation and project teams through to leaders across the organisation.

Externally, you'll interact with Vendors, Agency partners and other government entities. You will work together to find the best release approach and plan suitable timing for system releases. You will also ensure effective and issue-free handover of newly deployed software to digital operations.

We are looking for a strong and confident communicator with exceptional problem-solving and risk mitigation skills.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in ITIL service management related roles.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or other ITSM tools
  • Experience in modern project management methodologies, exposure to Agile change and release practices an advantage.
  • Experience managing day to day tasks, coordinating across teams to meet deliverables
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • ITIL foundation certification desirable or equivalent

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
