We have an exciting opportunity to join a high performing and well-respected EPMO as the Change Maturity Manager.

The Change Maturity Manager will:

  • Lift Waka Kotahi's Change Maturity
  • Improve Key stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Lead Strategic Change and Business Readiness mentoring and guidance
  • Identify and embed innovation and continuous improvement
  • Embed Te Ao Māori change practices
  • Lead change practitioner Community of Practice
  • Support the wider EPMO and Te Ama teams

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity'
NZTA | Waka Kotahi has a complex Change portfolio that ranges from large scale infrastructure projects, complex business change programmes, innovative digital initiatives, through to small scale incremental improvements, all of which impact our staff, partners, and customers.

The Change Maturity Manager is accountable for ensuring fit for purpose Change across the Change portfolio, including the provision of standards and guidance for delivery staff to maximise. To be successful, the role needs to ensure our Run portfolios and Run Management practices can absorb the Change Portfolio effectively.

In addition to your leadership attributes and to be successful in this role, you will bring:

Knowledge and experience:

  • You are an expert in the field of Change Management, with the natural ability to impart knowledge onto others
  • You are well versed in Business Readiness processes and the ability for organisations to manage through multiple Change initiatives
  • You understand, can articulate, and demonstrate how Change Management and Business Readiness disciplines complement delivery methods such as Agile, Lean, hybrid and waterfall
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the governance principles, legal framework, Treasury and Gateway requirements and public service reforms context that the Agency operates within
  • Extensive experience in the development and implementation of EPMO, Portfolio and enterprise strategies and Change management practices
  • Experience contributing to executive-level Governance Groups
  • Experience in engaging senior stakeholders (executives and business sponsors) and supporting effective decision making
  • Experience of mentoring and guiding team members and senior stakeholders

Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualification or certification(s)

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
