Grand Mercure Puka Park Resortboasts amajesticlocationat Pauanui Beach on the Beautiful sort after Coromandel Peninsula, on New Zealand's North Island. The tranquil resort is set amidst 25 acres of New Zealand native bushland and only two hours' drive from Auckland, the resort features luxurious chalets, tennis courts, swimming pool and renowned restaurant and conference facilities that offer breathtaking views.

We are seeking an experiencedGeneral Manager to lead and inspire a highly professional and dedicated team. Whilst the General Manager must have a strong rooms revenue acumen, they must also have a passion and knowledge of food & beverage operations and able to take this award-winning resort to the next level. You will play avital rolein overseeing and managing all operational aspects of our resort, ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

HOW YOU'LL SHINE:

  • Lead and manageall aspectsof theresort, including front office, housekeeping, conferences and events, food and beverage, maintenance, and other relevant departments.
  • A major focus on the food and beverage operations. Drive the culinary success, ensuring unparalleled dining experiences and offerings to attract the local market as well a guest.
  • Revenue management with the central revenue team.
  • Maintainandenhanceoperational standards toexceedguest expectations.
  • Develop and implementeffectivestrategies tooptimizeoperational efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaboratewith department heads to establish and maintaineffectivecommunication channels, fostering a positive and cohesive team environment and workplace culture.
  • Mentoring and coaching staff toenhanceskills and maintain high service.
  • Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction,promptlyengaging in service recovery.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, competitor analysis, and best practices to driveinnovationandimprovement.
  • Ambassador of unique experiences for guest and staff.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Experience as a General Manager or in asimilar leadershiprole within the hospitality industry. Having a food & beverage background is advantageous.
  • An eagerness to grow personally and professionally.
  • Exceptionalorganisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with guests, staff, and senior management.
  • Soundknowledgeof hotel operations, including revenue management, front office, housekeeping, conferences and events, food and beverage, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with property management systems and other relevant software.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and problem-solve effectively, even in high-pressure situations.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
