Te Kura Toi Tangata School of Education invites applications for this exciting opportunity to provide academic leadership and mentoring in teaching, research and service.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring a research and scholarship record of sustained excellence and a recognised contribution to the academic field of Education at a national and international level. The position is open to academics from all fields of Educational research who can bring professional and academic experience to be part of a team dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision. As a Professor in Education, you will maintain and develop original scholarship and research, as well as undertake professional/community/iwi service activities relevant to Education.

Along with teaching, your well-defined programme of research will help to advance research capacities, develop strategic cross and inter-disciplinary research initiatives, and engage with schools and other communities. You will have a record of academic leadership that includes mentorship, guidance, encouragement, and support for other academic staff in the pursuit of their academic objectives and the development of their professional careers.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours a week) based on our Hillcrest Campus. Salary for a Professor starts from $154,169 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. To accompany your PhD it is expected you will have a research and scholarship record of excellence at a national and international level, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and successful postgraduate supervision experience. You will be able to demonstrate how you can contribute to current teaching and research within the Division, as well as extend and build the university's profile for impactful, interdisciplinary teaching and research.

You will be passionate and want to contribute to and be actively involved in shaping the future of our programmes and research andbuilding an excellent reputation at the University. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of how your research could enhance professional practice and engagement with communities.
