The National Advocacy Trust (Trust) is a not-for-profit organisation, contracted by the Director of Advocacy to provide an independent and free Nationwide Health and Disability Consumer Advocacy Service, in accordance with the purpose of the Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994 and the Code of Health and Disability Consumers’ Rights.
With significant opportunities for growth and development as it supports consumers in a rapidly changing health sector, the Trust needs to embrace change to more effectively and efficiently deliver services to more people. This includes increasing the Trust’s profile, expanding the way it communicates with consumers, being more flexible in how services are delivered to different cohorts, and ensuring it positively influences health sector outcomes for consumers.
As the CE, you will be experienced in setting the strategy, seeking opportunities and driving change. You will have political nous and an ability to navigate through complex situations and relationships, and actively demonstrate a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will enjoy developing relationships and influence with government, Iwi and hapu, as well as NGOs, Pacifica, and other ethnic communities and organisations. You will be an effective people leader who inspires and motivates others.
