Role description:


The National Training Manager will play an integral role within the IT team to grow the firm's training program, recommend changes and apply modern training techniques to all they do. This role goes beyond training. You will think creatively, be committed to the long game and will value long term relationships, creative thinking and adaptability over process. You will have an opportunity to work on new initiatives to help improve the company work environment.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Lead the training team in Auckland and Wellington and develop their skills/competencies to take the company's learning offering into the future 
  • Work with the IT team to ensure top-notch service to customers and that all internal (national) stakeholders needs are understood and delivered
  • Review the induction process, implement a program to excite new employees and advise on technology to support that program
  • Prepare and implement annual training plan, delivering as required and maintain accurate records of all training completed for reporting purposes
  • Walk the floors, talk to people, and engage with stakeholders to evaluate the impact of training. Use this to continually update and deliver new training based on changes in the technology industry and the business
  • Provide "help desk" support to people on software and train people on laptop use 
  • Develop and write training programs for new software packages through testing

This role will suit someone with the following background/experience/ qualities:


  • Be interested in leading a high-performance team of experienced trainers (previous managerial experience is not required)
  • Deep understanding of software packages
  • Background in the technology industry would be a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Able to build and grow strong internal/external relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Experience evaluating training processes and developing new programs
  • Confident to present to diverse groups across all levels of the organisation
  • Able to work to a deadline, think strategically and use your initiative
