Job Description
Drake Hamilton are looking for an experienced payroll lead to join a well-established New Zealand company. Based in the new modern Hautapu site, this is a full-time role providing payroll functions for multiple entities within the Group.
Position Purpose:
You will be responsible for providing timely, efficient payroll support and delivery in a dynamic environment. You will have proven experience working in a high performing payroll team along with current, operational knowledge of NZ payroll related legislation. Previous experience in a broader accounting role with good exposure to payroll processes is also advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing the full payroll function on a portfolio basis for allocated entities, deliver end of employment entitlements, filing, payroll queries and resolutions, and processing annual increases.
- Ensuring employee information up to date.
- Actively assist with audit preparation or be involved with providing information during audits both internal and external.
- Complete all new starter requirements to ensure a seamless on-boarding experience.
- Engage in professional development by attending regular training for pay systems and remain up to date with employment law relating to payroll compliance (including leave/Holidays Act changes).
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with all staff across the business.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience and understanding of payroll systems, processes and legislative compliance.
- Experience in MYOB Payglobal is advantageous.
- You'll have good organisational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy including fast and accurate keyboard, data entry and word processing skills.
- The ability to handle interruptions and work unsupervised.
- An ability to work with information of a highly confidential nature.
- The ability to adapt your style and communication skills to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders from managers to executive level.
