Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a talented solicitor to join our Auckland Employment and Health & Safety team. As the successful candidate, you will work directly with leaders in their field, Marie Wisker and Vonda Engels, in a fast-paced environment and for a range of clients on the full spectrum of employment and health and safety-related issues.

Particular experience in employment law is essential, with health and safety experience being desirable. You'll have a strong academic record and the motivation to succeed in a busy, dynamic and fun team. You'll be part of a friendly and social team who work collaboratively. You will work in an open and supportive environment while being exposed to a wide variety of challenging and quality work, including employment-related disputes and litigation, advisory work and the opportunity to work on some of New Zealand's leading commercial transactions. We encourage all our lawyers to engage directly with clients, so there is plenty of scope for you to make the role your own in managing files and building your own client relationships.

If you are a talented employment lawyer with 4+ years PQE, wanting a step up or a new challenge, or are overseas and looking to return to NZ, you won't find a better opportunity than this to build your career.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • 4+PQE
  • Strong academic record
  • Commercially astute and client focused
  • Strong communication skills
  • Analytical and solution oriented
  • Experience in employment law
  • Health & Safety experience desirable, but not essential

Working for Chapman Tripp:

  • Breadth/depth of work and opportunity
  • Flexible working style and supportive leadership
  • Inclusive and diverse culture and team
  • Ongoing learning and development

  • Competitive salary and benefits package

We are a collaborative workplace of smart, passionate and hardworking people, united by a commitment to excellence. Work for Aotearoa New Zealand's largest partnership and enjoy a firm which has the resources and structures in place for you to do your best work; as well as people who are caring, inclusive and authentic.
