Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commercial Broker to focus on new business development. This role is an exciting opportunity to facilitate the growth of new commercial insurance accounts, with a special emphasis on fostering relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, providing robust advice, and responding to enquiries from both new and existing clients. This position offers the chance to contribute to innovative marketing initiatives, manage a select portfolio of clients, and assist in the mentoring and training of junior staff. What you'll do:

As a Commercial Broker focusing on new business, you will play a pivotal role in driving business development within the commercial insurance sector. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include facilitating partnerships, generating potential clients, managing a select portfolio of clients, and contributing to marketing initiatives. You will also develop formal insurance program proposals and ensure compliance with legislation. Your ability to mentor junior staff will be highly valued. This role requires a keen understanding of industry developments.

  • Facilitate the growth of partnerships through building strong relationships and referrals
  • Generate a strong pipeline of potential clients for transition to servicing brokers
  • Manage and retain a small, select portfolio of clients while maintaining high service levels
  • Contribute to innovative and informative marketing initiatives
  • Develop and deliver formal insurance program proposals and renewals
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Assist in the mentoring and training of junior staff
  • Maintain debtor control and provide claims assistance
  • Keep informed of industry developments

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Commercial Broker role will bring proven business development skills along with exceptional relationship-building abilities. You should have strong organisational skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and proficiency in using computer systems. Your flexibility in adapting to changes within a rapidly growing organisation will be crucial. Previous experience in the insurance industry, particularly within a broking environment, is highly desirable.
