    Ngaa Kawenga| The Role

    Corrections Officer, He Aapiha Whare Herehere will

    • AARAHI - supervise people's daily routines
    • MANAAKI - help people engage in their rehabilitation programme and attend appointments or tangihanga. 
    • WHAKAKIPAKIPA - motivate and inspire people to make positive changes
    • HAAPAI - monitor and manage health, safety and behaviours.
    • MAHITAHI - work closely with whaanau and other key stakeholders
    • MAHI - be able to work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts

    • Understand the importance of tikanga and te reo Maaori within our unique settings.
    • Ability to solve problems and work collaboratively.

    • Passionate about supporting people to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing.
    • Competent using online technology.
    • Excellent spoken and written communication.

    To be eligible you need:

    • The right to work in New Zealand or the ability to apply for a NZ work visa
    • A full New Zealand Driver Licence (or eligible on a Restricted or International Licence)
    • To declare any conflicts of interest and previous convictions.  Exempt from Clean Slate and all conviction history is released
    • The ability to pass a drug test
    • Be medically fit for employment and complete a Medical Assessment and Physical Readiness Assessment.

     

    Utu Aa-Tau | Salary

    Starting salary $65,019, increasing as you achieve national qualifications level 3 ($69,697) and Level 4 ($75,213).
