Description

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

A great place to work. With great work to do

Here at the FMA - Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko, you'll be helping to create a fair and transparent financial sector that serves all New Zealanders. You'll be making a difference by enabling New Zealanders to have confidence that our financial sector provides a strong, fair, and transparent foundation for their financial future.

Te Tūranga | The Role

We are looking for a Risk Adviser and a Senior Risk Adviser for this project-based assignment to progress the risk work within the FMA. This role is with a small, relatively new team (Evaluation, Risk and Governance).

Reporting into the Manager of Risk, you will be an experienced Risk Practitioner who can drill down into the range of risks with the outcome of improving the overall management of risk. You will engage across the entity, working with subject matter experts to identify external threats and opportunities, construct risk statements, identify and map current controls and deliver an integrated control framework that is fit-for-purpose and tailored. With an initial focus on operational risks (policy, people, H&S, finance, ICT and Systems etc), successful completion could lead to further work on the more complex regulatory risk areas.

This is a roll your sleeves up and do the risk mahi. You'll work with teams across FMA, facilitating a better understanding of risks, to help FMA achieve its objectives. Other responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the identification, analysis, and understanding of operational risks.
  • Map out and create an integrated view of risk controls using FMA's risk management frameworks, processes, and tools.

He kōrero mōu | About you

You will bring with you a strong understanding of risk management methodologies, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Most importantly you will be practical and hands-on and deliver these key initiatives. You will have demonstrated curiosity, questioning and critical analysis skills to problem solve and make well informed decisions.
