Our client is looking for an Alcohol and Drug Counsellor (Clinical)
Our Client is a well established Metal health and addictions organisation providing mental health, well-being and vocational support services to ngā tangata whaiora (whānau experiencing mental health issues) and counselling services to rangatahi (youth) who are affected by Alcohol and Drugs
The purpose of this position:
The purpose of this position is to provide Drug and/or Alcohol Counselling to Youth and Whanau through the medium of referrals from Government Departments, local schools, and youth programs in the wider youth community within the bounds of the Mid Central region from Palmerston North through to Otaki.
This is a full time permanent position - 40 hours a week.
Essential Attributes:
- Tertiary Qualification in the field of Psychology/Social work/Counselling
- Current full driver's license
- Ability to apply the principles of TeTiriti O Waitangi-.Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build strong positive working relationships at all levels
- A high level of initiative, self-management and accountability
- A relevant qualification and/or previous counselling experience of working with youth and whänau-.Ability to work within sound evidence
Desirable Attributes:
- Maintains DAPANZ through appropriate training and qualifications.
- Knowledge of Tangata Whenua in the Horowhenua
- Te reo me ona tikanga
- Local Network knowledge
- Current First Aid Certificate (this will be a requirement within 3 months of commencing this position)
