  • Influence the standard of roading in the Auckland State Highway network
  • Based in Central Auckland

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

As Area Engineer, your purpose will be to ensure that the condition and availability of the state highway network is managed effectively, to advocate for the customer experience and to collaborate with colleagues and partners to ensure good customer outcomes in Auckland. This will draw on your strong technical knowledge and experience, ability to be responsive to unplanned situations and problems while also taking a practical and pragmatic approach.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant experience in road network operations and maintenance.
  • Experience in road incident management and recovery operations.
  • Experience in planning or leading a large-scale operations plan, or response to a high-profile network impact.
  • Customer focus by understanding the internal and external customers and dedicated to meeting their expectations and requirements.
  • The ability to faces up to problem situations quickly and directly and take action when needed.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualification with NZCE or Bachelor of Engineering, STMS L 2/3NP, CIMS Lv3 (preferred)
