Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Now is an exciting time to make your mark with ACC as we embark on interweaving kaupapa Māori into our day-to-day mahi. Reporting to our Manager Deputy Chief Executive -Māori, this role is responsible for supporting the group with general business management, ensuring there is operational support across the unit, provision of sound strategic business advice, monthly reporting, and supporting risk management.

The base salary range for this role $117,422 - $138,144 with appointment depending on skills and experience. ACC offers 9% superannuation. The Preferred locations for this position are Te Whanganui-a-Tara or Tāmaki Makaurau. Other locations may be considered, and genuine flexible working options are available.

We are looking for a highly experienced Business Manager that has worked in a large, complex environment, ideally with public sector experience. To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience leading business advice and administrative operations and continuously improving the services delivered to enable effective operations.
  • Extensive financial management experience with strong working knowledge of current risk and compliance management standards.
  • Ability to produce well-structured reporting information and easily understood documentation up to Executive and Board level.
  • Deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application across the public sector, with the ability to bring the essence and intentions of Te Tiriti to life.
  • Clear focus on business needs, issues, and results, with strong business acumen.
  • High level of interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills, and must be able to easily engage and build strong relationships with key stakeholders within the DCE - Māori Group as well as across the organisation at all levels.
  • Ability to make decisions and sound recommendations based on proper analysis, relevant information, key issues, and relationships.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience and success in leading, motivating, and managing people.
  • Ability to connect across the organisation and influence change.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines to ensure we meet our key deliverables.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to delegate.
