Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for someone to join our People & Operations team as a Business Operations Lead. The role is critical to lead, manage and support operational coordination across the region to help deliver Pae Ora.

The business operations lead will contribute to the development and delivery of operational and business frameworks, systems, policies and frameworks.  The ability to lead and support while developing and maintain key stakeholder relationships will be critical for success in this role! This role can be based in New Plymouth, Hamilton, Rotorua, Whakatane, Tauranga or Gisborne offices.

Mōu | About you

You will have proven experience in operational and financial management, ideally within the health sector. You are able to deal with ambiguity and apply critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, and tertiary courses in risk and conflict management, quality improvement and stakeholder engagement
  • Has proven experience in operational and financial management
  • Experience within the health sector is desirable
  • You will have experience in successful project delivery with desired outcomes

  • A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
