Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service

Ngā mōhiohio e pā hānga ki tēnei mahi (About this position) 

Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (iCAMHS) is a regional service for children and youth aged up to aged 18 years with serious mental health disorders. Our multi-disciplinary team is made up of psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities. 

An important aspect to this role is inter-agency work, including working with community services such as Oranga Tamariki, schools, GPs and local Māori networks. 

This role is permanent 0.8 FTE working 64 hours per fortnight Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

We are looking to appoint an allied health professional, or registered nurses, with at least 2-years - experience, preferably within an iCAMHS or mental health setting. You will be experienced in working with young people and you will be up to date with current research findings relating to major mental health issues and trends in child and adolescent mental health service delivery. You will also have a background in delivering comprehensive assessments and evidence-based interventions for children and youth. 

You will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines and will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.  

This role is suitable for a Registered Nurse, or Allied Health professional e.g. social worker or occupational therapist, preferably with iCAMHS or mental health post-registration experience. 

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
