Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

This position will give an Addictions Clinician the opportunity to establish the role so the service can offer community detox in line with National Guidelines. The role will support people who experience drug and alcohol dependence and reduce the harms associated with use.

You will be working with an experienced multi-disciplinary team committed to providing high quality care to consumers and their family and whānau. This is an opportunity to further develop competencies in addiction treatment in a supportive and positive learning environment. You will facilitate a range of clinical interventions aimed at promoting the individual's well-being, aiding them in their recovery and enhancing their capacity to participate in community life. 

This position is based in Marlborough and the hours for this role is Monday to Friday between 8.00AM to 5.00PM, 40 hours per week.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

You will be a New Zealand registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or DAPAANZ with a current APC and preferably with some addiction experience but not essential as can offer training.

You will have a sense of humour, compassion, excellent communications skills, a non-judgmental attitude and a focus on developing interventions to reduce alcohol and drug related harms for both the individual and the community. It will also be important that you are experienced in delivering assessments and case management. You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to work with a range of cultures and be a team player.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
