Mō te tūnga | About the role

Case Managers provide specialist, end to end case management with prisoners including initial assessment, identification of prisoner needs, case planning and preparing prisoners for release.

Using a range of services and techniques, they work with external agencies and the prisoners' Whānau to support prisoners as they rehabilitate.

With a natural style to work collaboratively and top notch relationship management skills you will be someone who recognises the importance of the work Ara Poutama does and as we enter into a new and exciting era with Hokai Rangi, bring new ways of thinking to what is already a complex, dynamic and fast paced environment.

 

Mōu | About you

We are looking for candidates with;

  • Knowledge and experience working with Māori and Pacific Peoples and their whanau and communities.
  • Rehabilitation and reintegration related disciplines and practices.
  • Effective relationship management and communication skills.
  • The ability to motivate and support prisoners to make positive changes.
  • Experience and knowledge in Māori Language and cultural protocols and processes within Māori Communities, and of Māori Community structures and dynamics.
  • Full, clean NZ Drivers Licence.

Central to the role will be the ability to exercise sound professional judgement to ensure that prisoner needs, and services are appropriately identified and aligned to prisoner need.

You must work with high integrity and will demonstrate the Departmental values within your work: Wairua, Whānau, Manaaki, Kaitiaki and Rangatira.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The starting salary for this role is $65,956 with the possibility to progress to $86,066. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
