  • Start Date - As soon as possible.
  • Hours - 0.75 FTE (30 hours a week).
  • Status - Fixed term until 1st February 2025.
  • Location - Programme Office in Christchurch City Centre.  There may be opportunity for office flex time as agreed with other team members.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Change Consultant role is a fixed term position responsible for supporting the delivery of the Canterbury and West Coast District Holidays Act Programme - s Change Management Strategy and Plan.

This person will join our Change Team, which has responsibility for ensuring our 13,000 current employees are engaged and well-supported through changes relating to Holidays Act - Rectification - (payroll/time and attendance systems compliance), as well as education/communication on - Remediation - activities (the calculation of leave payments since 2010.)

We are looking for a capable, energetic, and adaptable person, who is looking for an opportunity to work in a large scale, complex programme to ensure we deliver a pragmatic, human-centred people approach to our change activities across Canterbury and the West Coast. 

You will be responsible for:

Working alongside our Programme Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for key activities including completing detailed business change impact assessments, implementing change management plans, and facilitating learning needs analysis. Some training delivery will also be required.

 It is essential to build strong relationships with our key stakeholders, recognising the critical roles they play in delivering health services is essential, as well as ensuring that all communications and education is engaging, clear and useful. 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years - Change Management experience in change analysis, including understanding the impacts of technology system and process change efforts/implementations, in a large scale, complex environment. 
  • Significant experience in stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management across all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience delivering training, needs analysis and capability development activities, to support change programmes.
  • Experience developing communications and education activities and other change artefacts on a large complex programme.
  • Strong self-planning and organisational skills, with an ability to work independently and with others - , prioritising, and proactively manage time and workload. 
  • High levels of EQ and dealing diplomatically with stakeholders.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills.
  • Strong levels of resilience, energy, and tenacity, with a propensity to persevere to get the desired outcomes. 
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and focus on delivering results.
  • A team player, who works collaboratively with and through others.
  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances and project priorities. 

Desired:

  • Experience with payroll change projects would be desirable.
  • Experience of working in a health environment, large Ministry or similar context would be highly beneficial. 
  • Change Management qualification.
  • Tertiary degree qualification in Human Resources or Business Management.
