Chicken Farm / Barn Worker | Egg Collector

Do you live in Huntly or Ngāruawāhia?
We are looking for people who live in or near Huntly or Ngāruawāhia to work on a chicken farm.
The chicken farm is located about 15 minutes from Huntly and 15 minutes from Ngāruawāhia. 
 
We have 3 positions available.

• 2 vacancies that are up to 5 days per week
• 1 vacancy that is part-time / casual

 
What the job involves:

• General barn duties, spreading saw dust, cleaning-up
• Working with livestock (chickens) - this may also include euthanasia of any sick or suffering chickens
• Collecting eggs
• Packaging and grading eggs
• Inventory work – stocktaking, labelling, and moving stock around

 
Who would be good at the job:

• Someone who has a farming background, does not mind getting messy.
• Physically fit and strong, can lift up to 25kgs.
• You need to have a great attitude and be a team player.

Full training will be given.

Requirements:

• Be a local - we are looking for people who live near the farm.  People from Huntly or Ngāruawāhia.  
• Have your own reliable transport to get to a rural location.
• Drivers licence (minimum of a restricted).
• Pass a pre-employment drug test.

 
Work pattern:

• For the 5 days per week vacancy

This is 5 over 7 days.  This might include weekend work.  You will work to a roster, and your 2 days off each week might change week-to-week.
 

• For the part-time / casual vacancy

This is an “on-demand” position.  There might be weeks where there will be no work, and other weeks were you might work 3-days, 2-days or the full-week.  This “on-demand” position is helping out when production increases, or to cover vacancies.
