Description
Do you have a range of civils, structures or roading experience and are keen to work on projects across Wellington with travel opportunities to other key projects across the lower North Island?
With a strong outlook on future works, and a team dedicated to training and promoting from within, this role will give an established Civil Engineer a wide range of future opportunities including progression into Project Management.
Key accountabilities of the position include:
- Understand contract drawings and be able to communicate specifications to the construction team
- Develop strong working relationships with Foremen to ensure measurements and quantities are in line with the goals of the project
- Assist Project Managers with project planning, including programme, work methods, and procurement.
- Ensuring Quality Assurance is completed
- Prepare Work Plans, Inspections, Test Plans, and Job Risk Analysis
- Quality control of direct and subcontract works
- Record keeping for performance monitoring
- Maintaining a Site Diary to record labour, plant, progress and material ordering
- Uphold high standards for all matters relating to safety

About you:
- You hold a New Zealand Citizenship or Residency or are currently in NZ with a right to work.
- You hold a trade qualification from the civil / water industry or an NZCE or civil qualification.
- You have worked alongside New Zealand field crews.
- You will have 5+ years of experience within the civil or water infrastructure sector.
- Ability to relate to a wide variety of people building and developing strong relationships.
