Civil Senior Project Manager – Auckland, New Zealand

Activity in Auckland is lifting for this contractor and as part of their long terms plans they are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team. Focused on heavy civil infrastructure projects they are looking for a manager with extensive experience in this space who will be able to run multiple projects whilst working within the business to add to their pipeline of work.

With so much investment in water in the region some experience in that space will be a real bonus for the role but your experience could also include bridges, piling, water treatment plants, marine, pipelines, retaining walls and other concrete works. You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience of site based project work under your belt and you must have a track record of delivering successful projects with a value of $5million and above. This is clearly specialist work so experience with a recognised heavy civil contractor is a must.

As a Project Manager you will be comfortable leading a project both contractually and commercially and negotiating your team through the rough and smooth of the construction process. You will have good man management experience with both employees and subcontractors and have an excellent track record of developing a competitive but safe environment. You will be comfortable working closely with clients and stakeholders and be happy to get your hands dirty when the need arises.

This is a company with a future and the long term plan is that the successful candidate will in time move into a larger regional management role as the business grows.

Other desirable qualities include;

• A degree or equivalent industry related qualification
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude
• Excellent planning, organisational and commercial skills
• A can do, winning attitude and a pride in delivering successful infrastructure projects
