Are you a Registered Nurse with a passion for Mental Health Nursing? Right now, our team at Te Roopu Whitiora, Community Māori Mental Health Team are seeking an experienced nurse to join us.  This is a full time role (40 hours per week) based in Whangarei.

 

Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.

 

We are a service committed to ongoing professional and cultural development within the parameters of the expected scope of practise for this position.

About You:

 

Our ideal applicant will have experience of working with tāngata whaiora and their whānau living with the effects of mental illness in our community and a proven ability to communicate well with tāngata whaiora, their whānau and colleagues, and engage Māori in making choices that enhance their wellbeing. 

 

A commitment to improving health outcomes, cultural safety and quality of care for Māori is desired.

 

Qualification and skills required:

  • NZ Registered Psychiatric or Comprehensive Nurse
  • NZ full Drivers License
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in acute and/or kaupapa led community mental health nursing practice
  • Knowledge of mental health nursing theory, practice, legal boundaries and ethical concerns
