The Mental Health and Addiction Services in Northland New Zealandare seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Acute Continuum - Home Based Treatment team.

 

This is a new leadership role designed to work across the continuum of acute care providing support to the crisis team – 2 days a week, as well as a new home-based treatment service for those experiencing acute mental illness.

 

The home-based treatment service is newly developed, intended to work in partnership with an NGO provider. As the Senior Medical Officer for the team you will provide clinical leadership, be involved with design and implementation and ultimately assisting in shaping the service and team as the service grows. In addition, this role will also provide leadership support and cover to the crisis team 2 days a week.

 

You will have the chance to provide leadership and guidance to a multidisciplinary team, with support for your professional development and plenty of opportunities to make a difference.

 

Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau (formerly Northland District Health Board) provides public health services across the Northland region, from north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga serving a growing population of 190,000. To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in either a vocational or locum tenens – special purpose Psychiatry scope of practice. FRANZCP and / or post graduate qualifications, however happy to hear from those near completion of their studies.  If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.  Te Whatu Ora is also an Approved Accredited Employer by New Zealand Immigration.
