Right now, we - re looking for a
Core Midwife to join the Maternity team at the Jean Todd Maternity unit.
Providing midwifery care to women in South Canterbury, the unit sees around 600
births per year, ranging from normal
and low-risk to complex and high-needs.
The unit was recently refurbished and is now a modern
purpose-built space for mothers, babies and whanau and for the staff that work
in the unit.
The Day Assessment Unit midwife role is varied and
exciting and its purpose is to provide care for women with conditions that
require additional monitoring, infusions, as well as providing midwifery care
for those who cannot access an LMC in the community. Other additional duties
upon direction includes working on the ward when it is busy and time in theatre
with elective caesareans.
This is primarily a weekday only role for approx. 6-8
hours a day, but there will be an expectation you have some flexibility in
terms of days, start and end hours to ensure practice across the full scope.
