Critical Care Registrar

Health New Zealand - South Canterbury, Timaru Hospital

Full Time - starting 2024

Looking for that elusive Registrar role where you won - t be competing with all of the other Registrars on your team for access to the best cases or Consultants to work with?

If you will be a PGY3 (or more) House Officer or are a Registrar looking to broaden your clinical exposure in Critical Care, then Health New Zealand - South Canterbury / Timaru Hospital could be the ideal place for you.

We have a genuinely rare chance for Critical Care Registrars to join our team of Senior Doctors who are all keen to teach, (despite the fact this is not recognised as a formal training post).  Work will be across the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department, General Medicine, General Surgery, Maternity and Paediatrics.

Professionally speaking we are looking for Critical Care Registrars seeking to extend themselves. You would be working in a facility with CT/MRI on site, in an informal (almost extended family) atmosphere.

Why choose Health New Zealand - South Canterbury?

With us, you are more than just a number; you are part of a team where everyone knows your name.  You will be supported to thrive through our many professional development opportunities.

On top of all that, you - ll get to enjoy the fantastic Timaru lifestyle: between the beach, the mountains, and the ski-fields, work-life balance is truly achievable here.

Starting in July, Timaru would be your perfect base for winter skiing, with 5 ski-fields within driving distance.

Mount Dobson: 1 hour from Timaru

Fox Peak: 1 hour from Timaru

Mt Hutt: 2 hours from Timaru
