We are keen to hear from Senior House Officers looking for new opportunities to work in our Emergency Department in Whakatāne Hospital from July 2024.

Mō Tātou – About Us

Situated in the sunny east coast, Te Ahuru O Ruhuaariki (Whakatāne Emergency Department) serves a rural population with a catchment area up to the East Cape. We are an 18 bed department that sees ~24000 attendances/year of which more than 25% are paediatric.

Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

We are part of an organisation that has a larger base hospital, Tauranga which is approximately 90km away.
