Engineering Working Foreperson

Our Engineering client is located in Lower Hutt. Leading metal fabrication and welding company specializing in structural steel and heavy fabrication, seismic strengthening and general construction builds.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Foreperson to the team, overseeing both site and workshop operations. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers, welders, and apprentices, ensuring quality in metal works and utilizing advanced welding techniques for precision. The role involves mentoring apprentices, problem-solving to meet deadlines, and maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers, welders, and apprentices effectively, delegating tasks and overseeing work progress.

• Ensure quality in all steel, metal fabrication and welding works, adhering to industry standards and client specifications.

• Utilize advanced welding techniques to achieve precision and efficiency in project execution.

• Train and mentor apprentices, fostering their development and promoting a culture of continuous learning.

• Creatively solve problems to overcome challenges and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership success in a similar role, demonstrating the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

• Expertise in metal fabrication and welding, with a strong understanding of industry techniques and standards.

• Ability to innovate and solve issues, adapting to changing project requirements and finding efficient solutions.
