We have an exciting opportunity with a leading New Zealand civil contractor whose operations span multiple sites across the North Island including Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Taupo, Napier, and the Coromandel. We are currently on the lookout for someone who has strong experience within the contractor side of estimating and quantity surveying, you will also be a confident people person with exceptional administration skills. Job Description:

Within this role you will manage estimating, tendering and pricing functions on behalf of our client with an emphasis on producing structured offers. Secondly you will develop and maintain systems and processes to support the delivery of well presented tenders, databases and estimating document management. As part of this tight-knit team you will work closely with the management team across both existing and prospective tenders identifying best practice requirements and building strong client relationships. You will also be involved in the continuous improvement of processes, expertise and technology utilised internally.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

- Must be up to date with applied best industry practice.

- Have a structured approach to tendering, preferably from a resource approach and hence, strong quantitative skills.

- In addition to having a strongly structured approach to estimating and completing tenders, demonstrate the ability to be creative and thus produce proposals that have considered options.

- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Be an effective negotiator.

- Excellent attention to detail with robust time management skills.

- A focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel and Project.

- Proven team player with an excellent work ethic.

- Understand discretion and the handling of private information.

- Enjoy a bit of banter and have a good sense of humour.

- Have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
