Established in 1983 my client leads the field in the Food manufacturing industry for food coatings, seasonings, sauces and more. Spanning across New Zealand, Australia and Thailand. The NZ factory has been purpose built to support the rapid growth.

The engineering team is a critical part of ensuring operations and manufacturing continue to run smoothly at all times. I am looking for a fitter and turner with experience in a manufacturing environment and holding a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • This role will cover the afternoon shift from 2pm - 10pm and reports directly to the engineering supervisor.
  • Based out in East Tamaki Auckland.
  • Remuneration will be based on previous experience, qualifications and skills but will fall between $35 - $45 per hour. 
  • Roster: 5 days on 2 days off M-F. May include weekends on the occasion.
  • Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed
  • This is a Permanent full time Job - Auckland based

The Role:
Overseeing a variety of day to day maintenance and repair issues on all plant machinery and equipment. Assisting with all break down requirements on shift as well as undertaking project work when required. Preventative maintenance will be a large part of this role as most of the machinery is brand new.
Other responsibilities may include fault finding under pressure, in a fast-paced environment. The commissioning and start up of equipment.

Actively participating in and contributing to improvement processes. On shift, you will work alongside the engineering team to perform prescribed maintenance tasks on a range of food processing machinery. Expect to work on pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, mechanical and rotating equipment. You will also do basic TIG welding.

Job Pre-Requisites
  • Mechanical Experience:
  • Experience with food processing equipment and machinery.
  • Proven experience working to a high standard
  • Experience and understanding of engineering and mechanical concepts, including basic mechanical tasks and repairs.
  • Welding Experience ideally TIG or MIG
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or certificate equivalent
