Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Te Pūriri o Te Ora Regional Cancer and Blood Service, based at Auckland City Hospital, is the leading provider of cancer care in the Auckland region, serving a large and varied population of around 1.7 million people.

The Northern Regional Cancer Service is engaged in collaboration with the University of Auckland within the Academic Health Alliance and you will ideally have experience in facilitating research programmes and contributing to excellence in research initiatives, and/or interest in an academic position.

You will be a part of the Clinical Haematology Service, providing secondary haematology services to the central Auckland area and tertiary services including treatment of acute leukaemia, high grade lymphoma and autologous/allogeneic stem cell transplant for the greater Auckland region (population greater than 1.7 million) and upper North Island. You will be working with a well-established thrombosis unit and bleeding disorder program including dedicated haemophilia care, as well as LabPlus who provides integrated and comprehensive laboratory support for the clinical service. This service also comprises of an extensive clinical trials unit and has links with medical and radiation oncology programs.

This role will be based within the Haematology Day Stay. This is a Mon – Fri service operating during business hours to provide care for patients currently undergoing chemotherapy who have suspected complications of treatment. Activities include ordering, conducting and interpreting a wide range of diagnostic and laboratory tests. For further details, please refer to the position description -
