Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti is a secondary care facility situated on the East Coast, comprising of urban and rural communities covering a large area, and serves a population of approximately 48,000.  Gisborne’s relative isolation is it's charm; however larger cities are only a quick flight away. The Hospital is located within a 5 minute drive of the town centre on the fringe of Gisborne City.

The remuneration range for this role is $58,100 to $68,309 and is covered by the collective agreement: NZNO HNZ Collective agreement (2023 - 2024)

We provide a comprehensive range of services in our 110 bed hospital, which includes:

  • ICU/CCU
  • Medical/Surgical
  • Orthopaedic/Rehabilitation
  • Paediatrics
  • Midwifery
  • Long Term Conditions
  • Mental Health
  • Emergency
  • Theatre
  • Casual Pool

To support the above services, we are offering energetic Health Care Assistants opportunities in ALL areas.

Moū - About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Level 3 NZQA Certificate in Health & Wellbeing 
  • Sound oral and written communication skills
  • An understanding and respect for patient confidentiality is essential.

All successful candidates will be subject to a police screen.
