About The Role
The Human Resources Business Partner contractor will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day HR operations run smoothly, based in their head office, in Takapuna. The role is supported by a People & Culture Assistant and reports to the HR Country Lead, Australia & New Zealand, based in Australia.  

The accountability spans from implementing HR operational strategies, analysing people information and leading HR processes, to proactively engage in employee relations, execute employee development activities, and manage and implement policies and procedures in support of the company culture.

You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Maintaining and upholding local regulations/employment laws, ensuring timely reporting for the HR function.
  • Proactively resolving HR matters and supporting people leaders and staff, engaging with all the business units ensuring the delivery of human resources services, wellbeing and communication practices that support the organisational culture.
  • Demonstrating employee advocacy as an approachable HR practitioner serving all employees.
  • Supporting the mediation of difficult employee relations.
About You:
In this key position, for 6 months, you will be able to hold the fort and then when the business is ready to recruit a permanent person to the role, you may like to express interest in it or if not, provide a good hand over to the newly appointed person.
  
Experience/Skills:
  • 5 + years' experience in an HR generalist capacity
  • Strong knowledge of of employment relations legislation and practice
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Highly adaptable and familiar with working in a fast-paced environment
  • Be a team player with a 'can-do' attitude -who can deal with an ER matter one day and be ok with doing HR admin and HR systems work the next day 
  • Experienced in Wellbeing, Health & Safety
  • Good with HR processes, employment transactional activities, and managing staff changes
  • Able to swiftly build strong working relationships and ability to pick up things/learn quickly
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation with be ideal as would previous experience in the Financial Services or Insurance sector or if not, experience in a corporate environment that may have had a trans-tasman or global business
  • Experience with Success Factors would be advantageous but if not, you will be savvy with picking up new systems having used other HRIS and Microsoft office including excel.
