Mō te tūnga  | About the Role

Here at Christchurch Hospital we are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join us in orthopaedics as part of our Musculoskeletal and Paediatric Cluster in Christchurch Hospital.

In this role you will be delivering services to the orthopaedic specialty and supporting the wider team. As part of our Musculoskeletal and Paediatric Cluster, this team works with patients across clinical specialties in Acute Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Trauma, Burns and Plastics, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Emergency Department, and Paediatrics.  

You will be actively involved in the education and training of 4th year undergraduate students and our rotational staff. You will need to be enthusiastic and confident in your clinical practice and have a collaborative communication style.  

You will be required to contribute to the weekend and on-call rosters.

Ko wai koe | About You

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other services;
  • Supervising and mentoring rotational staff and final year physiotherapy students;
  • Supporting quality improvement activities.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the acute orthopaedic setting
  • Respiratory and/or spinal injury skills are advantageous.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary team;
  • Enthusiasm and confidence in sharing your knowledge across your discipline;
  • A working knowledge of quality improvement processes.
  • Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and an Annual Practicing Certificate is essential.
  • Plastics and / or Burns knowledge would be useful
