*Insurance Advisor – Fire and General Insurance (Commercial and Private)*

H2R Consulting are working alongside GYB Insurance Brokers to locate a new Financial Advisor. This role will work with an existing client-base of Fire and General Insurance clientele.

GYB Insurance is based in Lower Hutt City and has a fun collaborative and supportive office.The GYB team collectively have several decades of experience in the insurance industry. GYB Insurance has experienced levels of high-growth and increased business in-flow. There-fore there is a need for an additional Financial Advisor to focus on this insurance business.

Package will offer the following:

  • Salary – $90,000 – 110,000 p.a. plus Kiwi Saver (dependant on experience).
  • Mobile Phone & Plan (including private use)
  • Ability to WFH (1 or 2 days a week)
  • Existing and well-established book of business ready to work with
  • KPI’s based around compliance (not sales)

Purpose of the role:

The Financial Adviser (Insurance) provides appropriate advice to existing or prospective clients regarding domestic and commercial insurance products and general risk management.

Key behavioural competencies we are looking for:

• Proven experience as a Financial Adviser.
• Good IT skills, including MS Office suite – particularly Word and Excel.
• Proven experience of delivering a high-quality customer service and to deadlines, understanding the need of customers and works toward achieving these.
• Uses diplomacy and tact and builds constructive and effective relationships.
• Provides information on a timely basis and in a useable form.
• Carefully monitors the detail and quality of their own work .
• Able to plan, organise and schedule workload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate with individuals with all levels of technical and non-technical skill sets (translate financial terms and concepts to all sorts of audiences).
• Strength of character to learn from mistakes and deal with challenging situations.
• Sound planning and organisational ability.
• Accepts responsibility for their own work activities, behaviour and personal development.
• Ability to show appropriate initiative and to know when to refer matters to a higher level.
• Maintains strict confidentiality and a professional manner.

Required Qualifications / Certifications:

• Holds a current Level 5 Financial Advice for Insurance Brokers qualification.
• Maintains CQIB or PQIB status by attending CPD seminars, development days and/or webinars as/when required (not essential).
• Has relevant Diploma or Degree (not essential).
