This is your opportunity to join the team of highly motivated ICT professionals in the Digital Services team at Whanganui Hospital as an Integration Analyst within the Applications Service.

The Whanganui Hospital's Digital Services team offers well-defined career paths, ongoing education, personal development, and super work life balance. We are searching for an experienced and motivated Integrations Analyst to join us on a permanent full-time basis.

This role is primarily accountable for:

  • System integration using HL7 messaging across our enterprise clinical applications
  • Management and development of our integration engine Rhapsody
  • Applications support for several business applications
  • Ensuring the ongoing data and integration needs of the Whanganui Hospital are designed, documented, and supported, in the context of the wider business application support service requirements, and the requirements of the local and regional operating models.
  • Ensuring users of hospital ICT systems receive the best possible service, to enable and support them to provide high quality, patient centred, safe, equitable and sustainable care to our community.

You are an ICT professional with an in-depth understanding of how technology can help our clients achieve their goals. In this role you'll be collaborating with our Digital, Data, Clinical, Project management, and Business teams to deliver high quality solutions that result in the improvement of the health outcomes of the people of the region and NZ.

You have an in-depth understanding of system integration, the use of HL7, FHIR APIs, JavaScript and other programming and development languages. You are passionate about succeeding, calm under pressure and a team player.

Skills and experience

  • Degree in an ICT discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with HL7 messaging
  • Experience with integration using APIs
  • Experience with integration engines (preferably Rhapsody).
  • Experience in JavaScript and one or more other programming languages.
  • Interoperability experience required. Ability to read standard and vendor specs and perform gap analysis between inbound and outbound transactions with minimal assistance. Ability to translate clinical language to technical terminology for health information exchange.
  • Proven critical thinking skills, follow through, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer-service oriented. Collaboration with IT staff and end users is key for this position.
  • Some flexibility with hours of work to support a 24 x 7 x 365 organisation.

Desirable:

  • Extensive experience with the Rhapsody integration engine.
  • Experience with API messaging.
  • Previous experience of working within the health sector.
  • ITIL foundation qualification.
