Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus at Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.

 

Pae Ora Paiaka Whaiora Hauora Māori have exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist.

 

This role will provide high quality accessible occupational services to adults with serious mental health and/or addiction needs in the community including support with transition to community-based care. The intent of this role is to promote occupational justice for mental health and/or addiction service users.

 

This role will be positioned to work alongside a team who work across the Iwi and Mental health service providers in a specific MidCentral locality (Manawatū, Horowhenua or Tararua) supporting whānau within Kaupapa Māori Mental Health and Addiction Services, Oranga Hinengaro.

 

Pae Ora is partnering with Te Uru Rauhi Mental Health and Addictions Services and at MDHB are moving towards a wellness and recovery-focused approach that encourages a whānau ora approach and encompasses the aspirations to achieve ‘WAIORA' flourishing individuals, whānau, and communities. This new service model delivery approach will support the achievement of whānau whaiora.

 

We are looking for people who are passionate about making real authentic changes and who have the tools and capability for clinical and cultural competence enabling better outcomes for whānau. It is essential that the successful candidate brings a proactive, collaborative approach.
