Company Overview: Our client is a Mental Health and Addictions specialist organisation providing mental health, well-being and vocational support services to ngā tangata whaiora (whānau experiencing mental health issues) and counselling services to rangatahi (youth) who are affected by AOD. They also run an Alternative Education program, and have Fielding, and Otaki based Kaiwhakapuaki (health coaches) working with the local health centres and community. There services extend throughout the Manawatu and Horowhenua region. They are part of an integral network of Iwi and Māori providers who work from Whānau Ora, whānau centred and strength-based approaches.
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Health Promotion advocate to provide/promote awareness about problem gambling through programme delivery. By working in collaboration to deliver programmes aimed at promoting increased awareness about the harm gambling brings to whanau, hapu and Iwi. The aim is to reduce gambling through heightened awareness, this programme is available to the wider community within the bounds of the midcentral region from Feilding, Palmerston north through to Otaki.
