This opportunity will suit an Intermediate Advisor willing to step up or a Senior Advisor ready to hit the ground running!

 

Te Puni Kōkiri, the Ministry of Māori Development, has a Senior Advisor role in our Strategy & Performance Team within the Strategy, Finance and Performance Puni. This role is an opportunity for you to be an influential contributor to positive outcomes for whānau, hapū and iwi.

TPK has a range of responsibilities that are very broad, from te reo Māori and culture, social and economic issues, to the environment and natural resources. Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity

The Senior Advisor role will lead, contribute and support the delivery of our puni. The Strategy & Performance team is responsible for supporting strong planning processes through annual and quarterly planning and reporting, measuring, and monitoring our achievements and providing quality assurance across a range of different workstreams.

 

Ko wai koe | About you

This opportunity is for people with good planning and reporting skills, strategic and critical thinking, and for organisational development and management.

The common criteria for success are to:

  • Understand tikanga Māori and have a commitment to achieve the vision set out in te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Working knowledge on performance reporting and report writing is preferred
  • Possess confidence in engaging with other puni kaimahi, senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Have a good understanding of government, public sector processes and the public service
  • Possess good organisational skills including analytical thinking and an ability to be agile
  • Value diverse perspectives and experience
  • Be able to respond to changing demands and priorities
  • Manage your effort to deliver work to a high standard and on time, both independently and with the support of others.
