Mō te tūnga | About the role

As the maintenance management system (MMS) SME, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing Our Navy's computerised MMS for both Navy shore and fleet operations. 

If you are passionate about maintenance management and have the required skills and experience then join us in contributing to the efficient operation and continuous improvement of the Navy's MMS.

Key tasks of this role will include:

  • Maintain and Support the Navy's CMMS application.
  • Contribute to the alignment of the CMMS application to Navy's maintenance management policy and business processes.
  • Provide expert advice and support to shore and fleet units on maintenance management data and architectures.
  • Implement changes to CMMS Master on shore and the fleet.
  • Resolve service requests and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Conduct testing to confirm the efficiency and operational capability of the CMMS software.
  • Develop SQL queries for data analysis and insights.

You will collaborate closely with the IM team, integrated partner (Babcock NZ), contractors and the wider NZDF community to ensure the solution introduced into production is fit for purpose and aligned to Navy's maintenance management policy.

This role is at the Devonport Naval Base. Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is some flexibility with working remotely.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for an individual with the following:

  • Diploma in Engineering, Information Systems or relevant discipline.
  • 3-4 years of experience in maintenance management, software support and data analysis preferably within military or similar complex asset industry.
  • Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) using systems such as SAP PM, MAXIMO or AMPS preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL Queries and Microsoft tools.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
