Machine Operator

OneStaff New Plymouth is the leading supplier of temporary and permanent staff to a number of industrial based clients in New Plymouth.

Our client has roots in the timber industry dating back to 1916, their experienced team has a wealth of knowledge in manufacturing building and finishing products from solid and finger jointed timber. With continued business growth we are looking for staff to join their team working as a Machine Operator within the timber factory.

Some of the tasks will include, but ill not be limited to;

• Setting up machine according to production plan requirements and undertaking all related prestart tasks
• Operating specific machinery/control panels and related tasks including cutting and shaping, jointing and laminating of timber.
• Dealing with machinery jams/stoppages as required. 
• Placing timber on infeed conveyor
• Pulling timber on to the trollies. 
• Stacking packets onto trollies. 
• Ensuring fillet placement is correct
• Filling defects / repair of timber
• Communicating to forklift operator to remove completed packets. 
• Wrapping timber to CTPL standards

This role requires a high level of strength and fitness, and you will be given full support and training within your role.

Requirements to work for OneStaff:

• ID required (one of the following) Passport OR NZ Birth Certificate & Driver’s License
• Pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol test
• You must be reliable with transport to make it to work on time each day
• CV, Relevant Certificates or License (i.e. forklift or site safe passport)
