Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Chief Economic Adviser, the Manager Analytics & Insights leads a team of experts who provide modelling expertise and analysis to the Treasury and the wider public sector. Our Analytics & Insights team is responsible for modelling to support tax and welfare system policy advice, and for applying analysis of linked administrative and survey data to policy work.

As the Manager Analytics & Insights, you'll be a leader in modelling and technical capability for the Treasury. As part of the Office of the Chief Economic Advisor's leadership team, you will encourage continuous improvement and innovation across the Treasury. You will help to lift our game in policy-oriented modelling and quantitative analysis, ensuring Treasury is the leading source for modelling and analysis within the public sector.

  • A proven track record in microeconomic modelling, statistics and/or economic research
  • An advanced degree in economics, statistics, mathematics or a related field
  • Leadership experience as an authentic, inclusive leader
  • Comfortable leading a team of technical experts and articulating technical material to a non-technical audience
  • Highly developed communication and relationship management skills
  • A record of developing talent, enhancing team performance, and connecting people
  • An ability to effectively plan, prioritise, and delegate work responsibilities
