Ngā kawenga | About the role

The Infrastructure and Digital Assets (IDA) team have an exciting and transformational plan designed to modernise our infrastructure and technology platform, delivering life-changing digital technology for our staff and the people that we manage.

The team is critical to the Department's day to day operations, and for achievement of its strategic goals (Hōkai Rangi) and broader government objectives, in alignment with our shared values of inclusivity and collaboration.

We're currently looking for a Manager, Data and Information to join our Information Management team. This role leads the team responsible for the delivery and maintenance of enterprise data and reporting systems and digital assets used by our staff and business reporting teams.

As the Manager, Data and Information , you'll  play a pivotal role in ensuring the products we deliver create business insight and value. Your will:

    • Lead a team of experienced and specialised data engineers and analysts.
    • Liaise with stakeholders to identify opportunities where data products create business value.
    • Continuously improve data management and delivery of new products through effective management of our work programme.

To be successful in this role you'll have extensive experience and involvement in managing

significant, complex data and reporting environments including:

  • Managing data warehouse and reporting infrastructure on-prem and in the cloud
  • Leading continuous improvement of an enterprise reporting tools and data management framework.
  • Managing efficient delivery through others, including coaching, mentoring, setting and achieving performance goals.
  • Liaising with business stakeholders to understand their business strategy and priorities and identifying opportunities to improve decision-making.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The midpoint of the salary range is $170,033 per annum and the full band is $144,529 - $204,040 per annum.  Appointment and remuneration will reflect your skills and experience relevant to the role.
