If you are looking for an opportunity to grow and develop as a Leader, one where you can bring your passion and commitment and grow a culture of continuous improvement then this could be the right opportunity for you.  We are looking for an experienced frontline manager who can lead and support staff to embed the over-arching organisational strategy Hōkai Rangi, which expresses our commitment to delivering great outcomes for the people in our management and their whānau.

The Manager Industries is responsible for managing offender employment activities on site.  In this role you will be managing instructors and principal instructors, including the coordination of training and development, delegation of duties and performance management.

Northland Region Corrections Facility (NRCF) has a range of industry focused areas including, Horticulture, Catering, Laundry, Carving to name a few. Throughout all these areas and more, the goal is to provide valued training, education and industry relevant skills to those persons within our management.

  • Strong people management skills that engage others in the vision essential
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate an effective team to share a common vision, purpose and to achieve strategic and operational goals. 
  • Highly motivated to enable skill enhancement and qualification attainment for prisoners to obtain employment post release.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict in a professional manner.
  • Courage and determination to succeed in a challenging and complex environment
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, including a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Develop and drive strategic plans to deliver good business results
