Salary: as per nursing MECA (senior nurse salary) $85,000
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated person to join our gastroenterology team working as a Maori Bowel Screening Programme Coordinator. The role would sit well in either the nursing or allied health domain, although could be someone outside of these specialities.
The successful candidate will be working alongside other members of the Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District bowel screening teams to promote and support equity across the bowel screening pathway.
The role will focus on working within Maori communities, and with Maori providers across the District to ensure Maori are aware of the bowel screening programme, are encouraged, and supported to participate.

Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District participate in the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP). As part of the NBSP service delivery model, the Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District team works alongside primary care, the National Screening Unit, and local community providers and groups to promote bowel screening uptake.
Moū - About you
The Maori Bowel Screening Programme Coordinator is a broad spectrum speciality role which will work alongside other members of the Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District bowel screening teams to promote and support equity across the bowel screening pathway. The role will focus on working within Maori communities, and with Pacific providers across the District.
Experience in this area helpful but not essential.
