The Team

Our Dermatology Department consists of a multi-disciplinary team, including Dermatologists, Registrars and Dermatology Specialist Nurses. We provide acute dermatological assessment and treatment for patients in the Canterbury/West Coast districts.

The Dermatology Department is based in our Outpatient building which was commissioned in 2019.  The Dermatology space is purpose built.

The Role

The Canterbury DHB are in the unique position where we are seeking a medical Dermatologist to join our service on a permanent basis. We are open to someone who is looking for either full-time or part-time work, so you can enjoy our wonderful lifestyle and attractions.

You will work in a dedicated Dermatology space, that includes four purpose-built consult rooms, two procedure rooms, phototherapy and patch testing suites.  Along with outpatient clinics, there will be some inpatient consultation services for medical patients admitted under other services.  You will be supported by a Dermatology registrar, a Clinical Nurse Specialist and a trained Dermatology nurse.  Our current Dermatologist will work alongside you and share the clinical and teaching duties involved in the role.  You will be supported to develop collegial relationships with public Dermatology services in both Waikato and Auckland, in order to further you development and continuing medical education.

The successful candidate will need to be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
