The main purpose of the MP Support Coordinator position is to provide community engagement between the Wainuiomata community, the member of Parliament and her team within the Ikaroa-Rāwhiti electorate. Listed below are the core responsibilities.
Based in Wainuiomata for 20 hours per week, you will be working to support your member of Parliament, constituents/community and the machinery of Aotearoa New Zealand's democracy.

Your previous experiences in providing administrative support and community engagement will be nothing short of excellent. You will be comfortable dealing with people and be close to the issues facing the community and be able to do this while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. Often, you will be, the first point of contact, highly organised and love working within a collaborative team.

As an employee of the Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape is beneficial in supporting your MP.
The pay band for the role starts at $65,630 per annum (based on full-time equivalent and will be prorated if you work less than 40 hours) and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an 'events-based fixed-term' agreements, with employment linked to the MP. This role is based in Wainuiomata for 20 hours a week.
