Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The National Lead Readiness and Response is responsible for leading preparedness and response strategies within Te Whatu Ora. This role is focused on ensuring that the organisation is well-prepared for various emergencies, crises, and disasters, and can effectively respond to mitigate their impact. This role plays a central role in safeguarding the well-being of personnel and the organisation's assets while also maintaining compliance with regulations and fostering collaboration with external partners.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

• Several years' experience in emergency management (in the range of 7+years), and knowledge of the Health and Disability Sector, Health Emergency Management and Civil Defence Emergency Management Sectors.
• Has led regional and local responses. Experience leading a national response is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in CIMS and its application to Emergency Management.
• Previous experience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options, provide advice, and translate this into meaningful action.
• Experienced in organisational transformation and business change where national approaches are required involving multiple stakeholders.
• Able to maximise the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to achieve the organisation's vision, purpose, and goals.
• Training experience – delivery and development of training/education modules.
