Salary band - $132,830 - $158,060 p.a prorata, Kiwisaver and car park

  • Negotiable FTE up to 1.0 FTE

Mō te tūranga - About the role

Based within our Community Mental Health Team in Invercargill the Nurse Practitioner will assist in improving client health and reducing health inequalities and clinical risk for service users, by identify high risk and complex health needs.

This role will include the following:

  • Assess, diagnose, treat and care planning for Tangata whai ora who have a mental illness
  • Provide consultancy, clinical leadership, and skilled advanced nursing practice
  • Actively work on strengthening partnerships/alliances with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop alternative models of care
  • Provide initial assessments for new referrals to the service
  • Demonstrate advanced nursing leadership and mentorship
  • Collaborate with other Te Whatu Ora Health Services, and NGOs
  • Deliver on the objectives of the national health strategy
  • Contribute to the research agenda within the mental health service

To succeed in this exciting new role, you will need to:

  • be a Registered Nurse Practitioner with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate
  • hold relevant post graduate qualifications in addictions or are willing to work towards post graduate qualifications
  • have the ability to successfully engage and empathise with families/whānau in a positive manner
  • demonstrate knowledge and application of NZ Health strategies.
