Lead the Ministry’s engagement with Aotearoa New Zealand NGOs involved in international humanitarian action

You’ll be the Fund Manager for our New Zealand Disaster Response Partnership (NZDRP). This means you’ll manage the Ministry’s mechanism for partnering with NGOs that deliver protection and assistance to communities in need of humanitarian assistance offshore. In this varied role you will:

The salary range for this role from 3 April 2024 is between $87,672 and $118,615 total fixed remuneration. We expect to appoint around the midpoint of $103,143 negotiable depending on skills and experience. The total remuneration is inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.

Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work.

To undertake any Ministry offshore travel it is a requirement that the staff member (and any accompanying family member) meet the health requirements for that country, including having the required up to date vaccinations relative to the intended destination as required for the health clearance by the Ministry’s health provider.
